Putnam County officials reported 270 newly confirmed cases in the latest data released by the Department of Health, bringing the total to 7,619 total cases out of 147,696 COVID-19 tests administered since the virus started spreading in early March last year.
The new virus-related death brought the total to 82 following several weeks of multiple fatalities being reported statewide.
There are currently 16 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Putnam County, which is monitoring 239 active cases, down from 394 last week.
A breakdown of COVID-19 cases in Putnam County, according to the latest information released by the Department of Health as of Tuesday, Feb. 9:
- Carmel: 2,844 (100 new);
- Southeast: 1,534 (63);
- Kent: 969 (34);
- Putnam Valley: 860 (21);
- Patterson: 738 (33);
- Philipstown: 674 (19).
Statewide, a total of 1,479,220 positive COVID-19 cases have been confirmed out of 33.69 million tests that have been administered. There have been a total of 36,339 virus-related deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
